Lakta is based at the Maison d’Entraide et de Ressources (M.E.R.). We have set up a studio there — a quiet, welcoming space where anyone can come to speak, record and tell their story, in their own words.

Each person decides how, when and where they want to share their testimony.

Once the content has been recorded and consent has been confirmed, we store it on a secure cloud, edit it and share it through our social media channels and newsletter.

We keep the raw recordings for future projects, always with the consent of the people concerned.

Our testimonies are dated and archived, and can be used for advocacy purposes by organisations that wish to draw on them, while ensuring the anonymity of the people involved.

Every recording, every name and every image entrusted to Lakta is handled with the care. We comply with the GDPR and follow strict internal protocols: nothing is shared, published or used without explicit and revocable consent.

People remain in control of their own stories. At any time, they can ask for their content to be edited, anonymised or deleted, without having to provide a reason.

We are particularly attentive to the risks that people may face. A face, a name or a location can have real consequences for someone’s safety, or for the safety of loved ones who may still be in danger.

That is why we work with an NGO specialising in digital security, to strengthen our protocols and use tools that match the level of trust placed in us.
